Historical Fund Balance Information

Here is a historical breakdown of the Saline Area Schools Fund Balance from 1993/1994 through last year. We are projecting it to be in the 5% range at the end of the current (09/10) fiscal year.
Mr. Graden,
Would you mind sharing enrollment figures for these years? I am interested to see how much of an influence the enrollment boom in Saline played into that period of a fund balance over 10%.
Where can we find copies of the actual budget for 2009-10 and years prior?
Please see today’s news about Dexter schools saving over $450k on bus transportation by eliminating buses within a 1.5 mile radius of the school. This certainly is one way to reduce the budget and substantially.

Dexter administration reviewed our transportation operations as they did detailed research into how to reconfigure their system. They focused on maintaining student safety, but also becoming more efficient. They commented on how our “cost per mile” was among the lowest they reviewed.
That being said, we are looking at ways to continue to trim expenses and still provide safe service to our families.
