The Funky Monkeys are off to Saline Middle School next year. With the transition of the 6th grade to the Middle School, we’re off too!

We are excited to welcome new students to Saline Middle School, and we are also excited to catch up with formers students as well.

It’s that time already!

On Wednesday, June 16th, we’ll celebrate a fantastic year. Our sixth grade students will be leaving Heritage School to enter Saline Middle School next fall. At the celebration, we’ll have pizza, games, sports, and even a DJ.

The Egg

The most memorable moment in the schoolyear so far is the Egg. It started as Mr. Foster had this Easter egg and acted like he was going to drop it onto one of us every once in a while. People started arguing if the egg was fake or real or hardboiled.one day Mr. Foster decided to end the debate. He asked whether the egg was fake, hardboiled, or real, and it was an equal debate. So, Mr. Foster chucked the egg at the wall and it exploded into a mess of egg. -Carl T.

What a wild two days! Each year, the Toronto trip is an action-packed two day of fun and little sleep! This year, we had a great time seeing such sights as CN Tower, Niagara Falls, and the Ontario Legislative building.

Our team is proud to be part of the Heritage School 2:1 Laptop Program. It has been so neat to have laptops at our disposal at all times!

We have been able to complete many neat technology projects. Right now, my Reading class is using the website Animoto to make 30-second commercials that advertise the book they just finished. We had several book groups within our classroom, and every group was either reading The Westing Game (mystery), Among the Hidden (Science Fiction), or The Castle in the Attic (Fantasy).

To make the commercials, the students first used digital cameras to shoot the photos for the video. Then, using Animoto, the students created the 30-second spot.

Michael’s most memorable moment this year.

The most memorable moment this year was when Mr. Foster threw an egg on the white board. Mr. Foster had an egg in the class room for a day or two. Everybody thought that it was fake because he kept throwing it up in the air. And then one day he just threw it at the white board and that was the most memorable moment this year.

Me vs. Lindsy

One of my favorite thing from this year is when we had a limbo contest. I knew Lindsy would be in the last two but i never thought i would be too. Then i WON!!!!!!!!!! I never would have thought that i would win. One more thing that was fun from this year is when me and Lindsy were in the bean bag toss. We both made 2 in a row so we battled off. its one point if you make it on the board and 3 if you make it i made 2 on the board and she didn’t make any on the first 2 shots then she made on it and she was in the lead my last throw if i get it on the board its a tie if i make it i win……..I MADE IT!!! Those are two of my favorite things that happened this year.

The thing i am looking forward to the most is the CN tower. I am looking forward to this the most because is saw the video on the funky monkey website and it looks awsome! Also my parents went on the Toronto trip when they were in 6th grade and they said the CN tower is the best. So i can’t wait! But i might be a little scared.

The Science Museum

I am looking forward to the Toronto trip in Canada especially the Science Museum. Most of the details in this famous museum are highly interesting, for example, the electricity ball. The Science Museum can help us learn a little more about nature or what we are familiar with. Now that in about a month we are going to be visiting a hand full of different locations. I will take the information I get and glue it in my head just in case we need it to talk about or explain what it means. I’m hoping that I will have a great time on the Toronto trip!

The place that I am most excited to go in Toronto is the C.N. Tower. I have heard that the C.N tower is very tall, and has a fast elevator to get passengers and tourists to the top. The Tower is called the Canadian National tower, C.N tower for short. I am also excited about the elevator ride to the top of the C.N tower. In a video I watched, you can see the Toronto skyline from the top of the tower. I can’t wait to go to Toronto!!!!
