Bus service: Scott see today’s news about Dexter cutting bus service in and around a 1.5 mile radius of schools with a savings of $450k! We need to take a serious look at reducing our buses. There is no need for buses within the mile radius of the schools. Childhood obesity is at near record highs because of lack of exercise (amongst other causes). Please let the children walk!
Anne,
Dexter administration reviewed our transportation operations as they did detailed research into how to reconfigure their system. They focused on maintaining student safety, but also becoming more efficient. They commented on how our “cost per mile” was among the lowest they reviewed.
That being said, we are looking at ways to continue to trim expenses and still provide safe service to our families.
